A step in the right direction – our FSC Certification!

The Forest Stewardship Council (FSC) aims to promote responsible forestry. That is why the FSC (Forest Stewardship Council/Wald-Pflege-Rat) has developed 10 globally applicable criteria for the responsible management of woodland. Since 2007, Hartung has had FSC Certification covering the areas of “production and sale of printed matter“, and is therefore able to provide evidence that the Chain of Custody (COC), the product chain can be seamlessly traced, and that consequently wood products are guaranteed to result from responsible woodland management. As manufacturers, we guarantee that our treatment of certificated products conforms with FSC standards. Therefore, the origin of the wood or the paper can be documented, and it is guaranteed that certificated wood or paper is not confused with uncertificated materials. That is how we can account for the fact that FSC wood is clearly identifiable at any time and at each stage of manufacture and trading. The FSC Seal of Guarantee denotes paper and products manufactured under conditions that ensure the sustainable management of woodland and the renunciation of all forms of uncontrolled deforestation, infringement of human rights or damage to the environment.
